One Year In

A collage of community moments from Katï Coffee’s first year showing local collaborations, first responders, and partners who helped shape the roastery’s journey.

A year ago, we opened our roastery with a simple goal: to enrich the lives and experiences of the people and community around us while roasting coffee with care and curiosity.

Twelve months later, we remain resolute in our goal because it is who we are... and because building this dream has been tremendously rewarding. As our anniversary month draws to a close, I want to share some excerpts and highlights from our journey in Year 1.

Rooted in Community

Building bridges and creating opportunities.

We partnered with local organizations that inspire us every day. At Brookwood in Georgetown, we worked alongside the Citizens to roast and package a blend that now fills their café with the same warmth they bring to every task. We also strengthened our support of first responders across Central Texas: people who pour their energy into serving others, just as we strive to do in our own way.

And through our scholarship at Southwestern University, we’ve been able to invest in the next generation of thinkers, creators, and doers right here in our community.

Each partnership gave us the opportunity to serve and connect people, ideas, and purpose in a meaningful way.

Craft and Curiosity

Balancing art and precision, origin and roast, familiarity and surprise.

We’ve explored new coffees, refined our profiles, and introduced blends that celebrate the harmony between origins, including collaborations that remind us how creativity often comes from shared effort.

We also launched an in-house cupping series, small gatherings where coffee lovers come together to taste, learn, and explore. Though we’ve only just begun, the conversations sparked there continue to influence how we think about what’s next.

Gratitude

Pausing to smell the roses.

I was humbled to be named among Georgetown’s 5 Under 40, an acknowledgment that belongs as much to the people who believe in this work as to us.

Because you have shaped this journey... through every message, every shared story, every bag you’ve brewed and shared with someone new. You’ve turned our roastery into a living conversation that stretches from our small workspace to kitchen counters and cafés across the country.

Looking Ahead

Year Two will be about deepening what we’ve begun: giving back to the community, thoughtful sourcing, meaningful storytelling, and continued exploration. We’ll remain guided by curiosity, driven by connection, and grounded in gratitude.

Thank you for being part of our first chapter.
Here’s to the next.

Stay grounded, stay curious
